Design Inspiration
Inspired by the tupak, the short-barrelled flintlock carried close at hand by Singh warriors alongside the tufang and the kirpan. Light, swift and always within reach, it served the Khalsa through the 18th and 19th centuries, from the jathas of the Misl era to the armies of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. For a Singh, the tupak was never just a weapon. It was part of his shastar, kept with the same respect, discipline and readiness as the rest of his bana.
The design captures the tupak in its most regal form: a rich wooden stock wrapped in fine gold scrollwork, a hand-engraved lock and barrel, and a gleaming gold band. It reflects koftgari, the gold-inlay craft of Punjab’s master armourers, who made the weapons of warriors as beautiful as they were fearless.
