Design Inspiration
Inspired by Baba Bota Singh and Baba Garja Singh. In 1739, when the Mughal empire declared the Khalsa wiped out, they stood openly on the Grand Trunk Road near Tarn Taran with only staffs in their hands and collected the Khalsa’s tax from every passerby. They even sent a bold letter to Governor Zakariya Khan himself.
When his hundred horsemen came offering pardon in exchange for surrender, the two Singhs refused. Armed with nothing but their sotas, they fought until their Shaheedi. News of their courage spread across Punjab and awakened the Fauj to rise again. Their spirit lives on in the words: “Hath hai sota, vich raah khalota” — a staff in hand, on the road I stand.
